K, I’m done with my Nietzsche/Zarathustra spam 🙂
I thought it was funner than some spam of a celeb everyone will forget about in a year or two.
Catch-22 is my favorite book, but Thus Spoke Zarathustra is the GREATEST book written. Over the next 500 years, I believe its impact will be similar to that of the Bible and the Koran and the Buddhist Sutras.
It is not exactly fun to read. It’s poetic, bombastic, and verbally effluent. If you read it and grasp its implications, you will be changed forever and for better.
PS: I recommend Hollingdale’s translation (pictured here) over Kaufmann’s. It’s clearer, more precise. It does contain some Briticisms, such as the archaic spelling and the occasional word used as a British person would use it, but it’s much better by far than Kaufmann’s American version.
